Hi, my name is Fabricio Rodriguez, (pronounced Fabrizio) but most people just call me Fab.

I have been living and working in the bayside suburb of Parkdale since 2013.

I think I fell in love with the construction industry as a 7-year-old when my parents engaged builders to perform renovation works at the family home. My brother and I would spend hours watching them work and most likely, getting in their way pretending we were builders as well.

Over the years, those builders kept coming back for different stages of an ever-expanding home renovation to the point that from a kid’s perspective, they became part of my childhood memories.

Fast forward a dozen or so years later, and both, my brother and I ended up also being heavily involved in the building industry. Looking back on it, the relationship my parents had with their builders was the first and most important lesson of my career.

Understanding a client’s needs and their goals is the most important part of what I do. Their new home, renovation or place of business will reflect who they are and the image they wish to project of themselves so, building relationships is at the heart of my job as a designer to understand their requirements.

You will have a million questions; you will be unsure about how the planning process works and who and when needs to be involved. You will want to have at least an approximate idea of how much it will cost before you commit.

It is my responsibility to help you navigate all of these issues and to treat each project as if it were my own. The phrase “This is what I would do!” will get a workout during our collaboration.

I will aim to provide you with a personalised service, that will add value by helping you realise your vision, with a sense of responsibility to help maximise the true value of your budget.

Working from a small office studio, I regularly take phone calls or attend meetings after work hours or at weekends at my client’s homes or offices to discuss briefs or pour over a set of concept drawings.

I set up BMACO Design Studio in 2007. Since relocating to Melbourne eleven years ago, I have continued my design work in Victoria as well as lending my skills to well-known Design and/or Building firms on a contract basis.
